• accept responsibility for all their actions and impacts;
• are willing and able to publicly justify what they do;
• aim to maximise their positive social, environmental and ethical (SEE) impacts and to minimise their negative SEE impacts, at every opportunity;
• improve their SEE policies and practices, year on year;
• accept that being 'perfect' is rarely a realistic or helpful ambition; and
• are committed to transparency and accountability as a means of driving continuous improvement in business practice.
