A brief overview of T&Cs governing the relationship with client companies is provided below.

SEE What You Are Buying Into Ltd (hereinafter "SEE Ltd") has created and operates the SEE What You Are Buying Into brand and scheme. Any business wishing to gain a SEE listing must complete the SEE Questionnaire and evaluation process according to our T&Cs. The SEE Questionnaire [LINK] has been developed in conjunction with highly respected expert organisations [link] and examines the SEE issues that are common to a broad range of commercial entities.

SEE Ltd provides support to client companies as they answer the SEE Questionnaire. Responding to the SEE Questionnaire allows a company to assess how well it understands and addresses SEE issues as they pertain to its particular business activities. We also provide evaluation services to companies (and other entities) that wish to assess and improve their Social, Environmental and Ethical (or 'SEE') policies and practices but do not wish to make their information public on this website.

Any business can participate in the SEE scheme so long as it is fully committed to transparency and accountability across all of the SEE issues. However, SEE listing is a serious and public commitment. Evaluation and listing depends upon meeting clear and objective criteria and consenting to and abiding by SEE Ltd's T&Cs.

Any company wishing to complete the SEE Questionnaire and the SEE evaluation process to gain a SEE listing is advised to first try the online SEE Questionnaire Manager (SQM) tool, to draft some responses, and to fully assess the amount of work and resources required to provide suitable responses to all questions. A free, no-obligation trial of the SQM and the evaluation process is offered to any business.

The following summarises a client company's requirements to accord with the Evaluation Terms:

  • It must nominate a company officer to consent to the SEE evaluation terms and to assume responsibility on behalf of the company for compliance with the SEE evaluation terms.
  • It must guarantee the information it provides is accurate, complete and verifiable.
  • It must pay an agreed fee to SEE Ltd.
  • It must provide basic information about its business and its products, goods and/or services, and state its organisational values and mission/vision.
  • It must complete the SEE Questionnaire according to the detailed guidelines accompanying each question (during the launch period, a minimum of ten questions must be completed before the company is published as 'undergoing evaluation').
  • It must complete the process within a period of 60 days (unless otherwise agreed).
  • It must fully cooperate with any SEE efforts to verify information provided in SEE Questionnaire responses.

For companies that complete the evaluation process and wish to be SEE listed, SEE Ltd will charge an annual licence fee to carry and display the SEE logo.

The following summarises a company's key requirements to accord with the Logo Licensing Terms:

  • It must state appropriate goals or targets for the improvement of SEE practices and polices over the 12 month licence period.
  • It must guarantee the information regarding its business, its operations and its SEE policies and practices and the information must be made available on this website for public scrutiny, comment and rating.
  • It must maintain its company information and SEE Questionnaire responses as current, complete and accurate at all times.
  • It must agree to answer all new and/or revised SEE Questionnaire questions as they are introduced, and any applicable supplementary sector-specific questions, within the specified time periods.
  • It must use the SEE logo in accordance with the style guide and Terms.
  • It must fully cooperate with SEE Ltd. to adequately address and resolve complaints regarding its responses as set forth in the Terms.
